Hi listers, unlike Haroldo who has trouble starting his Plus from a SCSI HD, I have a serial HD-20 attached to the Plus. My problem is that after I switch the HD on and I hear it spinning at its usual speed, when I then flip the switch on the Plus for the first time it gives me the Sad Mac, but at the second or third try to switch the Plus on it boots normally from the HD. No blinking floppy/question mark phase. System is either 6.0.7 (german) or 7.1, no difference. Any ideas? Any contacts to clean, any voltages to check? Note that the delay between starting the HD-20 and the Plus is not significant, the result (Sad Mac) is the same if I wait for ten seconds or ten minutes. I did not yet try a SCSI disk as boot disk, but the issue should be solved with the HD-20 as it came with the Plus a couple of years ago and is optically a perfect fit. Perhaps I should add that I removed the "programmer's switch" because its actuators seemed not to fit exactly the switches on the mainboard, causing erratic behaviour. The PRAM batt is o.k., it was the last one out of a photographer's shop, albeit past its expiring date. Any help would be appreciated.
