Does that mean that the 50V on the phone jack is no problem for these localtalk boxes, so you don't have to disconnect the phone system first? That'd be great!
PhoneNet uses the second phone line connections (the outer pair on a four wire connection. No, it cannot work on an active phone circuit but it can work on the outer pair with an active phone connection on the inner pair. PhoneNet can tolerate being connected to a phone line (48V) but neither it nor the phone line will work right. Most houses don't have the second phone line connected so it might not work.
