I use it regularly, though not on a schedule so it's nice to have it on and ready to go when I need it. Sometimes I'll use it multiple times in a day and not at all the next but I'm never really sure how soon I'm going to use it again. I only normally turn it off if I'm sure it won't get used in the next day or so and/or I'm leaving to go somewhere. For some reason I'm more worried about the wear and tear of constantly turning the thing on and off as opposed to heat. Even on hot days, feeling the side of the box reveals only a bit of warmth. On the other hand, my Mac Plus gets *HOT*. I've already had to replace the power supply/analog board once in it. I generally turn it off as *soon* as I'm done using it unless I know I'm going to use it again within the hour. But my Plus gets used far less than the Classic II, anyway. I recently installed a FannyMac in hopes that it would keep the Plus a little bit cooler but I'm skeptical as to how well these things work. It is similar in design to the Kensington System Saver, but it does not protrude above the top of the Mac and thus isn't as ugly as the Kensington model. Has anyone gotten any use out of a FannyMac that could comment on it's effectiveness? -Nat -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
