Ok, I was wondering how to handle the 800k disk issue. Im currently trying
to get the 575 on the net via a lc ethernet card. When That happens I will
have to give a go at downloading system 6. At the risk of sounding like an
idiot, where can you buy 800k disks? Do they still have them at Bestbuy,
Circuit city, Compusa etc?

You can't write floppies for a Plus in a PC. The Plus can only use an
Apple-specific format of 800 Kb per disk. PC drives are completely unable
to read
or write that format. External USB disk drives for the newer Macintoshes
have the
same problem. The only way to create a boot disk for an "800 Kb Mac" is to
create
them using another Mac with a suitable drive (any model from the SE FDHD to
the
G3 series will do the trick). A Mac Classic, for example, is really handy
here
because it can read without problem a PC 1.44 Mb disk containing a disk
image,
and then dump the disk image itself to a 800 Kb disk. Some people say that
this
is the only use for a Classic, a sentence I don't agree with, but that's
another
story ;-) .
