I'm becoming quite good at race tuning 7.1 to run like a much later OS. My uber-IIci has 7.1 and the Open Transport extensions, CPs and chooser from OS 8.1 on it, so it will do AFP over IP :oD. Amazing! I'm curious about which CP's/extensions from later systems will run on 7.1, and would be good to run. I don't want to use Open Transport, since I've read that classic networking is faster on a compact, but I'd like to know other ways I might soup up 7.1. I've seen Gamba's page on favorite 7.1 add-ons but using System 8 stuff is new to me... can anyone here share other instances?
