Thanks for all the replies on this subject. I decided to install System
6.0.8 on the 40Mb hard disk last night. I have to say, it's pretty amazing!
It boots up in less than 10 seconds, and seems to be very stable.

One thing that did puzzle me is what hard disks are compatible with the Mac
Plus. I have an original Apple 80Mb hard disk that I have pulled from a
IIcx (another fantastic system!), and I was originally going to use this
drive. I fitted it to the external case, but the disk tools on the Plus
didn't recognise the drive. I had checked the SCSI ID and the drive was
terminated correctly.

Anyone know why this didn't work? I have just purchased an external hard
disk case for the 80Mb drive, and would like to use this instead.

Thanks,

Andrew McCall
