OK, Guys,
The clear consensus is to allow sales/wants on Mondays. There is also clear support for allowing peripherals which are contemporary with the compact Mac period, and work with them and the operating systems they use, to be permitted.
So here are the parameters we'll run with from November 1st local time- initially on a trial basis for two months. Let us let things settle down for that period before we think of 'tweaking' the rules. OK?
Ozzies, Kiwis and Japanese members will have first 'go', followed by the rest of Asia, Africa and Europe. Those in the Americas will have to wait with patience as the earth rotates slowly on its axis. ;-)
1. List members may post items for sale or wanted on Mondays, local time. No reposts on the same day. Modest descriptions of items, with URLs of photographs or relevant descriptive pages, are permitted. Large scale cuts-and-pastes from web-sites are not!
2. No commercial postings are allowed.
3. No on-list discussions of prices, or comments about sellers, are allowed.
4. All responses must be taken off list.
5. Items must be directly related to Compact Macs. Peripherals must date from 1984-1994 and be usable with compact Macs. Original system and application software may be traded, but not copies and not games software.
6. Sellers should normally be willing to send anything smaller than complete computers or cases globally, provided the buyer pays full costs. Postings should indicate the location of the seller/wanter and how widely geographically they are willing to trade.
7. Sales should have 'SALE' or 'FS' in the subject; wants should have 'WANT' or 'WANTED'. Swaps should have 'FOR TRADE' or 'SWAP' or similar.
8. This is a service to the community: Neither Low End Mac nor its proprietor nor those who voluntarily oversee this list can be held responsible for any problems encountered in trading, nor can they offer an arbitration service. Buyers and sellers should take all necessary action to safeguard themselves.
9. The list-nanny's decision in all things is final - as always.
Enjoy!
Stuart
PS I'm on holiday and off-line next week, which is why I'm not starting it next Monday.
