Thanks for the tip, Sean. I'll check that. I did try tapping the side of the closed case lightly and didn't notice anything, but I'll try the more direct approach (carefully).


On a (somewhat) related note, Apple's SE/30 service manual (which I have a pdf of) makes a lot of references to "discharging the CRT". So, following that up, a web search turned up a lowendmac article that described that process, using a tool made from a screwdriver and 10K resistor run to ground, which you insert under that crt cap to make contact with the high tension lead. My question: Is that the best (safest) way to bleed that energy off?
