This must be connected to either a cable modem or DSL modem or use its internal dial-up modem to connect to the Internet.
The Airport Base station acts as a router to share the Internet connection to a number of computers. You can use the ethernet connection of the Airport Base Station to connect to "wired" computers. However, the CC does not have an ethernet jack. You can replace the internal modem with an ethernet card and connect that way. I know of no way to connect modems directly together.
