I'll be watching the answers to this one. Finally picked up an SE/30 > and have an ethernet card on the way. Hoping to eventually add it to > my little Airport network but would like it on the DSL connection > even if I have to run a wire across the room. >
I have a DSL connection with Router on the end, the router is plugged into an old 10Mb Hub (£2 on Ebay(GBP!)) and plugged into that is an SE/30 with an Ethernet card, a Colour Classic (Mystic) and a trusty old SE, (with a Plus soon to join them). They all work fine over the DSL line, I tend to use the SE/30 to run Telnet to my office and the CC to run Instant Messenging and even a little browsing. The 10Mb hub makes my other machines (Windoze & Linux) a little sluggish on the Lan but it is worth it ! The SE uses an Asante MACCON SEET Ethernet card, still quite a few around, the Mystic has Ethernet on board and the others use external SCSI based Ethernet adapters (Asante also), lots of them on Ebay.
