Occasionally eBay will have the back panels of the 575 up for sale. Look at Old Mac Milt for such a piece. I've found that since the back faces away from me and towards a wall, I really don't miss it that much. Of course, if you do have it exposed, then get it covered.
My advice is to go with the 575. It really is worth the effort to have the '040 instead of the '030.
