Hence the reason for the plastic straw...  :-)  Do NOT touch the CRT,
obviously.  Instead, rub the straw on the back side of the analog board.
Doing it on the front side of the board would not be a good idea.

Most likely, since hitting the side of the machine causes it to boot, it's
not a bad solder joint, but a loose plug for the power supply.  Might be
the one that goes from the analog board to the motherboard.
