When I start-up my SE/30 it goes Da-Do-Do-Do-Doooo (very musically I might add !
The screen just shows corruption
Any ideas?

I guess you've probably solved the problem by now (silly digest mode), but I remember reading that when the mac plays an archipellago (series of notes in sequence) instead of a chord (series of notes at the same time), the exact sequence of the notes is like an error code. This is of course just what I can remember from the mac bible, but I think bad or misseated RAM was a possible cause.
