I was surprised to see on the SE 30 logic board a series of soldered leads
off the ROM SIMM that look like they slide into some kind of connector, much
the way the Color Classic/LC series and modern logic boards do. These leads
are also present on the Classic & Classic II logic boards as well as various
Mac II series and LC & LC II logic boards I have seen. Anybody know what
they were used for? Were they the leads for some kind of connector (i.e. if
I removed the plastic & gold pin connector off a Color Classic logic board
would I see these kinds of soldered leads) that Apple decided not to use?
Were they diagnostic ports? As far as I know, there was no Mac that actually
had a receptacle to use them.
