Hello all,

I am new to this list, but have been "lurking" for some time.

Welcome!

Recently, I was assigned a project for a class at school. I figured
that doing a presentation about my SE (FDHD/1 MB/Zip) would be fun
and interesting.

Are you sure your stuff isn't too modernish? Such a BIG floppy, and
even a ZIP?!?

1) Does anyone have some Spanish variant of sys 6 or ideas about
where I can obtain it? I've tried System Six Heaven, Gamba's page,
Jag's House, and the Mac512 (it's a shame Apple went after them)
with no success.

It's a shame. Really. And after the demise of archaic-apples, I don't
have a place I can tell you to turn to. Noone had the guts to
re-establish a site where this kind of stuff could be downloaded
from. What a waste - there was such a rich collection of software,
20+ flavours of 6.0.7 with spanish as one of the more common. But I
hope one of the spanish-speaking list members can help you out.

2) Because I am will be taking it to school for the presentation, I
think I need some sort of carrying case. eBay provided few hits.
Should I go to LEM swap next or am I wasting my time trying to find
something so old?

There was quite a range of makes, and quite a lot of people using
them, so these carrying bags are not as rare as one might think. They
regularly show up on eBay, so if you look on swaplist, eBay and at
your local outlets, chances are you'll find what you need in time. I
have three different models, and my "fastest Mac in Südbaden" at the
time was an SE/30 in a Targus Bag strapped over my shoulder
on a Honda 250 RS.

3) I am planning to run a bit of Shufflepuck Café. Is there any
other "gee whiz" thing that I must do to show off?

Shufflepuck rocks. I loved the "Woody Allen" character to tackle
whatever opponent. I even ResEdited a personalized "witch" character.
Cricket Graph, as suggested by another poster, is a little wonder
IMHO. I still use v1.2.1 on a regular basis and I love it for its
simplicity, efficacy and clean programming. If you are looking for
other examples of eighties "different" Mac programming, you might
consider "Moving Finger". It may be raw, but it went right at the
heart of graphic Mac programming. Enjoy!

Cheers, OM
