How is it possible to boot off of a CD drive
with a Plus or SE/30?

I used an Apple branded CD drive and a Power Mac 5200/75LC CD to boot my Plus into 7.5.1. The Plus *did* boot with the 5200's CD.

What I did to make the CD was burn a bootable disk image with a
program like TransMac on my PC.

The CD I used was a genuine copy from Apple.
