I've seen that before, but I don't recall exactly what causes it. I think it might be an incompatible version of Mac OS or a corrupt System Folder, but I could be totally off on that.

Does anyone know a good source to find the long shaft screwdriver required to open a SE30 case or perhaps have one to sell? Are there any other special tools
required to work on a SE30?

It is a standard Torx screw, and I got a long Torx (T15) driver at Home Depot. Sears & Lowe's (and other places) probably carry them too.

I'm sure more questions will follow as I begin working on the unit but first
need to open it up.
