Ahh, short memories. A month ago, I posted this message to this list: > Good news & bad news > 15 Sep > > Well, for me, the bad news is that my Classic II has died. The HD spins up but nothing else. The general consensus was that this was leaking motherboard capacitors and the quick & easy fix for this is to thoroughly clean the motherboard. The more elaborate route is to replace the capacitors, but they're surface-mounted onto the board, making it difficult to do by hand. If it works, the machine will run again, but probably with no sound or only very faint sound. The sound volume was failing before the machine developed SimasiMac and refused to boot. -- Liam Proven · http://livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=lproven AOL/AIM/iChat: [EMAIL PROTECTED] · MSN/Messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] · Skype: liamproven · ICQ: 73187508 Gmail/Google Talk/Orkut: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
