I have successfuly booted off a 100MB Zip drive on a classic II no problem,
I formatted the disk on the classic (when inserted it didn't recognise the
DOS format and prompted to initialize). Maybe you should start your
classic without any PC compatibility extensions and try again?

I have found if you have the disk in the drive before you turn the mac on
the disk is recogonised though it is better to have the Iomega driver in
the system folder (which is blessed isn't it?) on the zip disk.

P.S. Liam did you get my private email in regards to HHG a week ago as I
haven't heard back?
