You're obviously new to dishwashing? I'd say that only in the past 15 years, have diswashers actually been capable of thoroughly washing and rinsing. I've always run my boards through the "china/crystal" cycle, without detergent. Seems to work for me. Perhaps detergent is necessary for especially gross boards?
