I a rather dependent upon the Enhanched Zoom Desktop tool. It allows me to zoom into a part of the screen and see it clearly, with the zoomed part of the screen following the mouse. However, there are times when I need the screen to remain where it is (not to pan with the mouse), and the only way that I've found to do that is with the "Toggle zoom area lock" option. When this option is enabled (Super-l) then I cannot work with the application on the screen.
For instance, in Firefox I can zoom in, pan around, and work with the application as I normally do. However, once I press Super-l, locking the zoom area, I cannot switch tabs, click on form elements, scroll, or anything else. How can I configure Compiz to lock a specific portion of the screen, yet allow me to work with my applications? I thank you in advance, as Compiz and the Zoom (and Negativity) plugins make using the computer much more comfortable for me. Your efforts are very helpful, and not just for eye candy.
