Heh, for that I was just following the suggestions at http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Xgl. After I sent this message I went back and looked at the source, and _mesa_BindVertexArrayAPPLE is defined in arrayobj.h. This is interesting to me because that was one of the files I had a problem with while compiling. I had to make a symlink from xserver/xorg/GL/mesa/main/arrayobj.h to the arrayobj.h in the mesa source in order to continue.
