Grabbed fedora compiz source rpm 2. Checked out git compiz 3. Tarred it into compiz-current.tar.bz2 4. Tweaked the spec (you have to pass --enable-librsvg to configure for svg supoort), built the rpm and installed it. Keep in mind that desktop-effect will not work with latest vanilla compiz, but everything else (apart form metacity theme support) works like charm. Hope that helps.
