Benchmarks can be misleading with this bug. For instance, with the game oolite (a elite clone with OpenGL graphics), the FPS is almost identical with or without unredirect_fullscreen_windows enabled. However, when you actually play the game, it's very noticeable that the game is in fact really lagging. It's like the game "sticks" every few seconds.
