I also see this problem on a clean install of Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit after upgrading from Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit.
However, I experienced no such problems on a clean install of 8.10 64-bit on my HP Pavillion dv5t-1000. I do recall at one point when I installed the beta or RC of 9.04 that I had no such difficulties with visual effects. It was only until I decided to clean install the version this problem arose. I will see if Karmic does anything to fix this issue. Otherwise, I will downgrade back to 8.10 in the meantime. ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => New ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Visual effects do not enable at start-up https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346870 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
