Under intrepid I tried: - "Force sync between X and GLX" - multiple upgrades of the nvidia drivers - upgrades of compiz and xorg from ppa - in the meanwhile I do not know what I have already tried. but it have been multiple of hour of investigation. Until now no success.
Now I hopefully switched to karmic, and the problems are still there, that is frustrating for me. Especially if you remind, that I tried all suggestions on the topic.
