Thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
I believe this is a compiz issue, since the workspaces applet uses compiz for
desktop switching afaik.
Also, you reported this bug against the beta release of Karmic Koala, do you
still expirience this bug in the final release, and did this work previously?
