I am replying as the "bug opener".
I can't obviously make anything out of your logs, but I am reporting here what
MAY be the permanent solution (or was for me).
I was waiting to publish it here or on a thread over at ubuntu forums because
I'd like to go a little more days to see if it sticks in place.

Anyway, purging *compiz* from synaptic, removing compiz ppa (in your case, you
don't seem to have one, but install ubuntu-tweak and go into the purge section,
you never know) then reinstalling, appeared to solve temporarily, but I always
got the effects being disabled.
I also had x-updates ppa active, but I had already disabled it, and tried the
ppa-purge package off the official repositories, which told me he didn't find
any reference whatsoever to packages from x-updates; in the meantime I kept
having the probems.

Anyway, that's when I discovered ubuntu.tweak had its own ppa purge
function, at which point I purged the system for x-updates, and it
actually downloaded the "vanilla" X packaged and installed them over the
x-updates ones. After which my comèpiz has been working smooth ever
since (couple of workdays, maybe too soon to say for sure).

I occasionally had the "window maximize/minimize/close buttons
disappeared" issue, that happened a few times... but it only took a
logout/login to get it solved (?).

Bottomline, I have vanilla compiz and vanilla X drivers packages now.
