The tty1 method posted by Omer has given me the window controls and fixed the window depth issue, however the panels aren't displaying.
I receive the following error: ubu...@ubuntu:/etc$ metacity --replace Window manager warning: Type mismatch: Expected `int' got `bool' for key /apps/metacity/general/num_workspaces Window manager warning: 0 stored in GConf key /apps/metacity/general/num_workspaces is out of range 1 to 36 Using gconf-editor editor the value is a bool, I wasn't able to locate the config file where this is set (all the files I was able to find had it set to int). Further to my initial bug report (I noticed it upon booting up again), I should have mentioned that when the window comes up asking if I want to try ubuntu (which I selected) or install ubuntu the panels and window borders are showing correctly, the display manager appears to shut down following this and starts up again with window borders and panels missing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685325 Title: Gnome menus & window titles missing _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
