I have had problems with Ubuntu 10.10 locking up on a Compaq Presario SR5109UK (original spec, 1Gb RAM) but without having done anything at all with Compiz. On a couple of occasions it's happened when using installing packages (Skype and Dropbox) and once when just web browsing.
Ubuntu is running in a dual boot set up (with Vista) managed by EasyBCD in a 20Gb partition. I've set it up for someone as a backup to Vista for getting online, so for Ubuntu to freeze up will be embarrassing! I (had already) updated the BIOS to 5.13 (latest, whatever it is). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691195 Title: Unless Compiz Fusion Icon Running System Freezes After Login _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
