I got it in the 32-bit version also. Interestingly enough, prior to updating the system (fresh install) performing the actions above caused Compiz to crash. After the update, the title bar wen solid black (no notifiers or anything), whereas it became invisible (or disappeared) on my other system. Here are the basic specs, in case it helps:
