there has been a discussion on the ayatana mailing list about that. It
seems wrapping around doesn't fix all the design issues with workspaces.
The workspace switcher will be revisited for oneiric though. You are
welcome to continue the discussion on the ayatana mailing list, enable
the option in ccsm (wall plugin) for your personal usage until then :)
