I think I'm having the same issue. With wobbly windows on and a window maximized, when I go into expo and drag the window to another workspace, it moves workspaces just fine. However, if I go back into expo the window is still attached to the mouse pointer. The corners stay anchored, but the window warps, and when I leave expo it stays warped. The only way to fix this is to close the window. I'm guessing this has something to do with the plugin interacting with the "drag to top to maximize, and drag down to minimize" feature.
Personally I thought this was one of MS's weaker innovations with Win 7, and I can't see why it's been copied by both Ubuntu and Gnome 3. Especially in the first run of the new desktop, when Compiz already has so many great effects. I think it is a pretty important bug, because this is one of the most popular Compiz effects, and one that really has a lot of wow effect when someone boots into a Linux desktop that uses it by default. Not terribly useful, but great presentation value. If Canonical is looking for a broader audience, it's better to showcase unique features rather than clone some from Win 7. Instead it seems that Compiz compatibility has been greatly scaled back rather than improved, which doesn't make much sense. It's like, Linux has some amazing effects, which Win 7 has made a pretty pathetic attempt to imitate, so to bring more people over to Linux let's dumb down our effects and make it more like Windows. Not to mention the login screen which is like placing a screen door on a skyscraper. Real Linux geeks aren't going to care, but for everyone else, presentation and first impressions are pretty important. That said, I really think Unity is a big step forward for the Linux desktop and personal computing in general. Another issue I'm having is that the panel will become badly distorted after changing various Compiz settings, and only a unity --replace will restore it. That seems to relate to issues mentioned in this post. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/728998 Title: Turning on wobbly windows in compiz causes issues in workspace switcher _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
