** Summary changed: - a big part of many dialogs go outside of the vertical area of the screen on netbooks + a big part of many dialogs go outside of the vertical area of the screen on low resolution displays
** Tags added: regression-release ** Description changed: Binary package hint: compiz This is a regression in compiz from Maverick as this was not a problem in Maverick. when you open the "Open" dialog in chromium its vertical height is so much that much of it goes outside of the screen. In the same way when you start gimp for the first time on a netbook the its toolbars go outside the screen height even they can be resized to reduce their height. I have attached a few screenshots for example. + This happens with resolutions with height less than or equal to 800px + (and maybe other resolutions too). + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110411-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: [core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, decor, resize, gnomecompat, regex, place, move, grid, imgpng, animation, workarounds, mousepoll, wall, session, vpswitch, unitymtgrabhandles, expo, ezoom, staticswitcher, fade, scale, unityshell] CompositorRunning: compiz DRM.card0.LVDS.1: - status: connected - enabled: enabled - dpms: On - modes: 1024x600 - edid-base64: AP///////wAGr8ITAAAAAAESAQOAFAt4CuFFlVpXlCQZUFQAAAABAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBfBUArkFYHiAYiDEAw3EAAAAYAAAADwAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgAAAA/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAgAAAA/gBCMDg5QVcwMSBWMyAKADc= + status: connected + enabled: enabled + dpms: On + modes: 1024x600 + edid-base64: AP///////wAGr8ITAAAAAAESAQOAFAt4CuFFlVpXlCQZUFQAAAABAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBfBUArkFYHiAYiDEAw3EAAAAYAAAADwAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgAAAA/gBBVU8KICAgICAgICAgAAAA/gBCMDg5QVcwMSBWMyAKADc= DRM.card0.VGA.1: - status: disconnected - enabled: disabled - dpms: Off - modes: - edid-base64: + status: disconnected + enabled: disabled + dpms: Off + modes: + edid-base64: Date: Thu Apr 14 17:48:44 2011 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: - Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27ae] (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) - Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device [1025:015b] - Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device [1025:015b] + Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27ae] (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device [1025:015b] + Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device [1025:015b] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Alpha i386 (20110324) InstallationMedia_: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Alpha i386 (20110324) MachineType: Acer AOA110 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=95cba44d-398c-4728-b876-b20a52acb639 ro rootflags=subvol=@ quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature_: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Renderer: Unknown SourcePackage: compiz UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 10/06/2008 dmi.bios.vendor: Acer dmi.bios.version: v0.3310 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.vendor: Acer dmi.board.version: Base Board Version dmi.chassis.type: 1 dmi.chassis.vendor: Chassis Manufacturer dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAcer:bvrv0.3310:bd10/06/2008:svnAcer:pnAOA110:pvr1:rvnAcer:rn:rvrBaseBoardVersion:cvnChassisManufacturer:ct1:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: AOA110 dmi.product.version: 1 dmi.sys.vendor: Acer version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110411-0ubuntu1 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.23-1ubuntu6 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.2-0ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 7.10.2-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg: xserver-xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.0-0ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20110107+b795ca6e-0ubuntu7 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/760645 Title: a big part of many dialogs go outside of the vertical area of the screen on low resolution displays _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
