I have a similar problem. I can log in (classic with effects), but after working for a while, the mouse behaves strangely:
* I cannot focus any window * the cursor does not change on hover, always stays at the same state (for example the text-selector) * if I manage to open a terminal by shortcut it gets focussed, but I cannot leave * xkill and xwininfo cannot grab the mouse * if the cursor "froze" in text-select mode I can select text without even hovering over the text: I have to displays. on #1 there is a term.
