I now keep a shell open just to restart the decorator when it crashes:
ubuntu:lib> gtk-window-decorator --replace
** (gtk-window-decorator:26108): CRITICAL **: Could not find frame info
`\u000d\xad\u0001 in frame type table
Segmentation fault
ubuntu:lib> gtk-window-decorator --replace
This is with Ubuntu 11.04
