Same here...
but my screen is totally unreadable (only mouse pointer is clearly visible (and
moves) :)
I can reboot the system with a console window ctr-alt-f1 -> login ->
sudo reboot.
Interestingly I have a similar (not the same) problem if I ctrl-alt-f1
from a working x session and then ctrl-alt-f7 (I say not the same
because the system seems to refresh windows if I play with it someway,
picture of this last behaviour is attached)
