I run <setsid unity> from terminal to recover window decorations. For those that are running dual monitors and multiple workspaces you may notice on restore that all open windows arbitrarily choose to restore on random workspaces which is a pain because you have to manually rearrange all windows back to there original position. I've learned not to click on the window menu, but there is another bug that randomly causes windows decorator to crash as well. But I found a workaround to keep me from rearranging all my window when it does crash. If I open a terminal window on workstation 1 and run the command <setsid unity> then all my windows refresh with the window decorator and in the original position.
Hope this helps someone alleviate some of the frustration until this is fix. 11.10 | Unity 4.28.0 | Intel IGC -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/884347 Title: Window borders keep on disappearing when trying to open the window menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/884347/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
