I am using Mint 9 x64, and my visual effects are set to custom. I have 124 files, (pict. Jpeg and .png) in my background folder, but the appearance application only shows 59 in the GUI. In the past, the added files would just disappear out of the folder completely. Now there seems to be no way to access the missing files from the GUI. I've tried replacing the files in sudo nautilus but no change. Never had this problem in any other distribution from 6.04 ubuntu to ultimate ubuntu 2.9.
