After my last posting, I found out, that installer went for nvidia driver - nvidia-common.
When I tried nvidia-common (not installed per default in 11.10), it did freeze my laptop as well and I removed it again. (was not reported that time). Removed nvidia using: sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-common nvidia-current nvidia-settings Rebooted into 'nouveau' driver, which is working now for a longer time than before with nvidia. Will post further results. cuK -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947443 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 1 desktop freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/947443/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
