So I must say, is compiz merely sluggish to you or are animations legitimately broken when launching specifically from Unity's launcher? Mine seem to be fine (testing on 11.10 right now) though my animation settings are not default. Also, could you post system information by running 'apport-collect 759813' in the terminal, please?
