thom, thanks. That confirms it's not trying to render anything at a high framerate and the wakeups are caused by something else.
I don't think it's appropriate to keep discussing your problem in this bug which is fix-released. Please log a new bug and try to attach "perf" output of the compiz process while it's idle but still waking up lots.
