Hello, I am currently on 12.04 and unfortunately I cannot sense any delay.
If I quickly do Alt-Tab and release I think here's what happens - Application switcher showsup - The next window is brought to top - Keys are relased - Application switcher disappears - Old application is shown back for the shortest possible time (I think this is not intended and seems to appear as long as the selected window is painted) - New application is shown. I think this is also related, If I do Alt-Tab just once and hold the alt, - Next application is brought to top - the tray in the middle is kept as long as Alt is hold down - Then I release Alt and old application is brought to top (just like in the previous case) - Then The selected application is brought to top. I think the end behavior is what makes it look garbled.
