It isn't just AMD/ATI, I am running Nvidia 8800 Ultra and Intel Core 2 Quad, had this problem the first time I hibernated my system yesterday, the only way I can get around it is to log in with Gnome (no effects) which is no fun lol. Running Mint 11 x64 (natty)
