I can not confirm that disabling vsync would help. with and without vsync compiz consumes 20%-25% cpu when i move a small window around.
btw, dimitri, vsync is an essential technique in computer graphics to prevent tearing ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_tearing ) but it never really worked for X11. Ubuntu 12.04 is the first release that really reduces tearing but now we have this cpu issue. :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803943 Title: compiz consuming a lot of cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz-core/+bug/803943/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
