Same problem.
Happens on with both Desktop Wall and Cube.
Using Gnome Classic.
Nvidia GTX 560 with proprietary drivers installed.
Moving the window, then letting go of shift and then moving back to
another workspace without the window works for me.
This problem is not present when using a "no effects" session.
