There is a test package for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS available in ppa:unity- team/sru - compiz-plugins-main (& -default) 1:0.9.7.0~bzr19-0ubuntu10.1~test1
I briefly tested it seems to fix the test cases 1 & 2 for me, ie. the part that the window now stays where it is instead of moving.
