You have been subscribed to a public bug:
when firefox was maximized last time it run, then it is maximized again
when restarted. but then there is a small gap at the right side of the
window where the desktop background image is visiable (maybe 3 pixels or
so).
when i unmaximize it and maximize it again, the gap is gone.
i guess other applications are affected as well, but i currently don't know an
app which maximizes at start.
this bug occurs in ubuntu 13.04
