This bug still affects ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS, compiz-core 0.9.7.12-0ubuntu1. I've lost any hope to get a real solution for this during the LTS lifetime. But at least can we get a workaround, even if it breaks unity? There are ubuntu users who don't use unity, and the idea to lock compiz to unity is causing a lot of trouble and IMO, in the end, will cause compiz to die with no real alternative (with every other existing alternative to compiz you lose functionality)
