It looks like we can't remove gnome-settings-daemon until we update the
gnome-session file /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/ubuntu.session:
[GNOME Session]
Name=Ubuntu
RequiredComponents=gnome-settings-daemon;compiz;
DesktopName=Unity
We need to set RequiredComponents to unity-settings-daemon;compiz;
